Eighty-Eights Eighty-Eights is a jazz record label launched by Sony Music Japan and headed by veteran jazz producer Yasohachi "88" Itoh (Mr. Itoh's first name is the Japanese character of the number "88"). The albums on the Eighty-Eights label are created the old fashioned way: invite a stellar group of jazz musicians to a recording studio for a couple of days and simply roll the tape-no overdubs. Columbia Records is teaming up with Eighty-Eights in the US and will be releasing some of this great music. New Releases (in stores April 15, 2003)
